Research Issues in Contemporary Education (RICE) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed online journal that publishes educational research studies, literature reviews, theoretical manuscripts, and practitioner-oriented articles regarding issues in education. Research Issues in Contemporary Education is an official publication of the Louisiana Education Research Association. RICE is an online journal (ISSN 2690-9251) indexed by the U.S. Department of Education ERIC Database and EBSCOhost. Call for Managing Editor

Research Issues in Contemporary Education (RICE)  is accepting applications for the position of Managing Editor. Responsibilities of the Managing Editor include:

  • Overseeing production of a minimum of two issues annually, Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer
  • Seeking LERA board approval for proposed special issues
  • Co-editing and co-managing the production of approved special issues
  • Coordinating with the annual conference Program Chair to publish all conference proceedings and award papers
  • Advertising calls for manuscripts for all issues, including special issues
  • Announcing the publication of new issues

The newly appointed Managing Editor will be mentored into the position over the course of their first year of appointment. Required qualifications of the position of Managing Editor are:

  • Active membership with the Louisiana Education Research Association
  • Tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the State of Louisiana
  • Experience serving as an editorial board member and/or reviewer for national and/or international education research journals
  • Publication experience with national and/or international education research journals

Applications for the position of Managing Editor will include a cover letter describing the candidate’s suitability and qualifications for the position, a curriculum vitae, and a list of 3-5 references.
