Author Guidelines

RICE manuscript submissions must be between 5,000 to 10,000 words, including references, and must follow the most recent edition of the APA Publication Manual.

Please remove all author identification in the manuscript. Include in the submission a separate cover page with complete author identification, affiliation, and contact information.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES FOR GUEST EDITING A SPECIAL ISSUE


RICE welcomes proposals for special themed issues on a wide range of education-related topics. Interested editors or co-editors should submit a proposal with the editor or co-editor’s contact information and institutional affiliation, a working title for the special issue, a 1-2 page double-spaced explanation and rationale for the special issue, and a tentative schedule for publication. RICE article submissions for special issues must be between 3,000 to 10,000 words, including references, and must follow the most recent edition of the APA Publication Manual

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The submission is between 5,000 to 10,000 words, including references, and follows the most recent edition of the APA Publication Manual.
  5. Instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  6. All author identification has been removed from the manuscript. The submission includes a separate cover page with complete author identification, affiliation, and contact information.
