About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Research Issues in Contemporary Education (RICE) is a nationally indexed, double-blind, peer-reviewed online journal. RICE publishes educational research studies, literature reviews, theoretical manuscripts, and practitioner-oriented articles regarding issues in education. RICE also welcomes proposals for special themed issues on a wide range of education-related topics.
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted for review to RICE will be previewed for suitability by the managing editor and then blind reviewed by two reviewers. Manuscripts are evaluated based on the following criteria: relevance and contribution to educational research, theoretical framework, review of literature, method, presentation of findings, and overall quality of the manuscript.
Submission of an article implies that it has not been published and is not currently under review for publication elsewhere. RICE article submissions must be between 5,000 to 10,000 words, including references, and must follow the most recent edition of the APA Publication Manual.
Publication Frequency
Research Issues in Contemporary Education is published twice a year, excluding the addition of special issues. Our Spring/Summer edition is published in August and our Fall/Winter Edition is published in February. Authors are encouraged to submit year-round.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Sponsors
The Louisiana Education Research Association was founded in 1956 to support and promote the use of research in education. Educational researchers, and those interested in the application of research in education, are invited to learn more about LERA and to join the association.
